Family Sponsorship

Family-based sponsorship is possible by US citizens or "Green Card" holders.  Landed Permanent Residence status is granted based on one of five "preferences:"

Immediate Relatives Preference - for spouses, parents and unmarried children (under the age of 21) of US citizens only.  There is no limit to the number of "Green Cards" issued under this preference in any particular year

First Preference - for unmarried children over age 21 of US citizens only

Second Preference - for spouses and unmarried children under age 21 or unmarried children over age 21 of "Green Card" holders

Third Preference - for married children of US citizens only

Fourth Preference - siblings over the age of 21 of US citizens only
